Broke String Burnett's band emerges from the heart of Texas, a musical collective shaped by the visionary Texan troubadour himself. Hailing from Fort Worth, Broke String is the quintessential country music crooner with a punk rock edge, his songs weaving haunting tales that push the boundaries into the realm of the psychedelic – a genre he affectionately dubs “cosmic country.”
The Fort Worth Weekly aptly labeled their music as "Swampy spaghetti western," capturing the essence of the band's unique sonic tapestry.
Their dynamic live performances have reverberated across the DFW Metroplex, sharing stages with local luminaries and touring acts, including a memorable collaboration with the southern gothic icons Legendary Shack Shakers.
In 2023, the band received a significant accolade in the form of a Travel Grant from Hear Fort Worth, supporting their November Texas Tour. In December they were nominated in multiple categories, including Best Americana Band and Best Album for "Doppelganger." The band's drummer, John Paul Thomas, claimed a Panthy for Best Drummer.
Looking forward to 2024, Broke String and his band are gearing up for an exciting chapter, promising a new album release accompanied by a series of visually captivating music videos. Broke String Burnett's band stands as a testament to musical perseverance, blending genres and captivating audiences with their unique and evocative sound.
